Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover all three visuals and identify several important features: adults aged 18–64 are the largest membership group at 51%, the two fiction categories each account for 38% of loans, and loans rise overall from 2007 to 2016. These are relevant comparisons and give the response a clear overview. However, some details are unclear or inaccurate: the age figures are percentages, not simply counts, and the 2007 total is about 15,700 rather than 15,000 dollars. The trend is described only as “increasing and decreasing,” without selecting key turning points or explaining that the total generally rose despite fluctuations. Develop the loan trend more precisely and include another notable category, such as adult non-fiction at 13%, to make coverage more balanced.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and paragraphs covering the age and loan-category data before the time series. This makes the main areas of the task identifiable. Some progression is weakened by mechanical transitions such as “First we talk about” and “after that,” and the overview mostly lists what the visuals contain rather than summarising their main patterns. The final paragraph also combines a broad trend with little supporting detail, so the reader cannot follow the changes across the years. Use clearer topic sentences and group related comparisons, then support the trend with selected years—for example, the rise to about 20,600 in 2010 and the later increase to around 21,700 in 2016.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “categories,” “fiction,” “young adults,” and “increasing and decreasing,” so the subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “how much age of people covers the loan,” “having high in number,” and “the loan amount consist of.” These choices sometimes make the intended comparison difficult to interpret. There are also spelling and word-form problems, including “abount” and “peoples.” Aim for accurate chart language and natural collocations, such as “accounted for,” “the largest share,” and “the total number of loans.” Vary verbs for describing proportions and trends rather than repeatedly using “contain” or “consist.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the reader can usually identify the figures being compared. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in clauses with several ideas. For example, “the most members of library having adults it consist of 51%” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “from 2007 to 2016 gradually increasing and decreasing” has no properly formed subject and verb. There are also recurring agreement and article errors, as in “the given table, pie and graph chart shows” and “the lowest value only 1% consist.” Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and finite verb, and check singular/plural agreement and tense. A more controlled pattern would be: “Adults aged 18–64 made up 51% of members.”
