Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify several relevant headline features, including the dominance of adults aged 18–64 and the combined 76% share for adult and children’s fiction. However, some figures are misreported: children and young adults together account for 37%, but the remaining 12% is the 65-and-over group, not simply an “elder” category without a clear figure. The overview is also too general, and the loans trend is only partly described: the total rises overall from about 15,700 to 21,700, with fluctuations, rather than being summarised through the key pattern. The response is 136 words, below the required 150, and several chart details are omitted or unclear. Develop the overview and support it with accurate comparisons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation: an opening sentence is followed by an overview and then comments on membership, loan categories and annual totals. However, the progression is not consistently clear, and the second paragraph, “Overall, it has percentage distribution and bar chart,” does not communicate a meaningful overview. Connections between ideas are sometimes abrupt; for example, the discussion of fiction shares moves directly to DVDs and then to the annual loan figures without clear grouping or transitions. The final sentence also ends with an unfinished reference to “young adults and audio books.” Use separate, purposeful paragraphs for the overview and the main chart comparisons, and connect related figures with clear linking phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some task-relevant vocabulary, such as “percentage distribution,” “accounted for,” and “least percentage,” and the reader can generally identify the topics being discussed. However, the range is limited and several choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “categorisation of loans” does not describe the charts clearly, “pending loans” is not the right term for completed loans, and “elder age group” is awkward. There are also spelling and form issues, including “breif” and “Childrens.” Aim for precise chart language such as “proportion,” “loan categories,” and “total loans,” and check spelling and natural collocations. More accurate vocabulary would make the comparisons easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few longer structures, including “more than half of library members belongs to the age group of 18-64,” but agreement errors and sentence construction problems are frequent enough to affect clarity. For example, “members belongs” should use a plural verb, while “Adult and Childrens fiction has major percentage” has problems with number and sentence structure. The opening also shifts between plural and singular agreement: “The charts … and also depicts.” Punctuation is inconsistent, particularly in “24%.DVDs,” and the final sentence is incomplete. Most sentences rely on simple patterns, with limited accurate control of complex forms. Practise subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms, and proofread sentence boundaries before submitting.
