Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
The response identifies the topic and includes some relevant figures, such as 38% for two loan categories and 51% for adults aged 18–64. However, it does not provide a clear overview of the main features, and several details are inaccurate or difficult to interpret: the period is given as 2007–2026 rather than 2007–2016, and the loan totals are repeatedly misreported, including figures of 22,000–23,000 when the chart peaks at about 21,700. The age-group figures are also incomplete, with the 12% group omitted. The response contains 133 words, below the required 150, which further limits its coverage. To improve, summarise the dominant patterns accurately and compare the largest and smallest categories and the overall loan trend.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to group information: the response first introduces the charts, then discusses loan categories, loan totals, and finally member ages. This gives the reader some sense of the task’s different parts. However, the progression is difficult to follow because the paragraphs are not clearly separated and several statements are fragments, such as “Highest percentage is 38% and 6% fell and 1% 2%.” The repeated phrase “according to the table” and the closing “These all information” do not clarify how the figures relate. Use a clear overview followed by organised paragraphs, one for membership and loan categories and another for the trend over time, with linking phrases that show comparisons and changes.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “percentage,” “increased,” “fell,” and “total number,” so the reader can recognise that it describes charts and trends. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spelling errors make the data harder to understand. “Lone” is repeatedly used instead of “loans,” while “Highest lone is upto 20,000” is not a natural way to describe a peak. “Fell into 13%” is also an unclear collocation for reporting a category share. Aim for precise chart language such as “accounted for,” “rose to,” “declined to,” and “reached a peak of.” Check spelling carefully, especially for repeated key terms, since these errors reduce clarity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts simple statements and some past-tense descriptions, for example, “2010 is incresaed lone to 21,000” and “2012 lone fell to 21,000 and 19,000.” However, sentence structures are often incomplete or incorrectly formed, and the range is narrow. “We discuss about the age…” shifts into an inappropriate present-tense construction, while “Children to 22% and Young adults to 15%” lacks a complete clause and verb. Articles and prepositions are also missing or awkward in phrases such as “Total lone by category of children.” Use complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and maintain past tense when describing the 2016 data and historical changes. Vary sentence patterns only after these basic structures are secure.
