Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You cover the three visuals and identify several important features: adults aged 18–64 form the largest membership group, fiction accounts for the largest loan shares, and loans are highest near the end of the period. Most category percentages and membership figures are reported accurately. However, the overview is unclear (“Finally had the highest loan in 2016”), and the trend description misreads the data: loans rose from 2008 to 2009, rather than decreasing, and the overall pattern is a rise from about 15,700 to 21,700 with fluctuations. The stated 2016 and 2007 totals are reasonable approximations, but the overview should clearly summarise the main trend and comparisons. Develop the time-series description more precisely and avoid unsupported wording such as the library having “invest[ed] money.”
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate discussion of membership, loan categories, and yearly totals. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression is weakened by abrupt or unclear links, especially “Finally had the highest loan in 2016,” which does not clearly connect to the preceding overview. “Moreover” and “However” do not express the relationships between the points that follow, and the final paragraph combines category shares with the time trend without a clear transition. Organise the body into distinct comparisons and use linking phrases only when their meaning fits. Clearer referencing and a more deliberate sequence would make the report easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “member,” “loan,” “fiction,” “non-fiction,” “highest,” and “fluctuation,” so the topic is generally clear. There is also some attempt to vary phrasing, such as “recorded” and “contribute.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward: “invest money in different sector with loans” does not describe the chart, and “the highest member” should refer to the largest membership group. Spelling errors such as “goverenment,” “childerns,” and “flucuation” are noticeable, while repeated use of “highest” and “loan” limits precision. Choose standard chart-reporting expressions and check spelling, especially for key terms and category labels.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a sentence describing the sequence of changes from 2008 to 2016. However, grammatical control is inconsistent. For example, “adults are the highest number of member” has faulty agreement and sentence structure, while “Young adults … had 15 percent” needs a clearer subject such as “accounted for.” The overview fragment “Finally had the highest loan in 2016” lacks a subject, and “which shows increased” is not a well-formed clause. Articles, plurals, and verb forms also need attention. Aim first for accurate complete sentences, then use a few controlled complex structures to connect comparisons and trends.
