Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You cover all three visuals and identify several important features, including the largest membership group (adults aged 18–64, at 51%) and the equal 38% shares for children’s and adult fiction. However, some details are inaccurate: the membership figures are for 2016, not 2026, and the graph runs from 2007 to 2016, not 2006 to 2016. The statement that loans increased every year is also incorrect: they fell after 2011 and again in 2013, before rising to about 21,700 in 2016. Your overview is limited, and the graph’s fluctuations are not adequately summarised. A clearer overview of the main patterns, supported by accurate comparisons, would make the report more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a generally coherent arrangement: it introduces the visuals, then discusses membership, loan categories and the trend over time. Paragraphing helps distinguish these topics, and comparisons such as the matching fiction shares are easy to follow. However, the opening contains several points in one sentence, and the graph paragraph gives only a brief, inaccurate trend rather than showing how the figures change over time. Some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “followed by” and “and.” Improve progression by giving a concise overview after the introduction, then grouping related details and using clear contrasts such as “whereas” or “by comparison.”

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for describing charts, including “percentage,” “category,” “maximum,” and “lowest,” so the reader can generally understand the subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling problems reduce precision. Phrases such as “maximum user,” “loan taken,” and “cover lowest percentage” are not natural ways to describe these data; “largest group of members” and “accounted for the smallest share of loans” would be clearer. Misspellings such as “laons,” “childerns,” and “minumum” are noticeable. Use accurate chart language consistently and check spelling, especially for repeated key terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, and most of the intended comparisons can be understood. However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently. For example, “Above chart represent” lacks an article and has incorrect subject–verb agreement; “table illustrate” has the same agreement problem. In “which increase every year and reached,” the verb forms do not match the past-time context. Articles and plural forms are also often missing or inconsistent, as in “Number of laans in 2007 is.” Practise accurate past-tense reporting and build sentences with a clear subject and verb before adding comparisons or clauses.
