Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features and making relevant comparisons. You successfully highlighted the key trends for sodium, saturated fats, and added sugars across the four meal categories. The overview is clear and provides a good summary of the data. However, the analysis could be improved by ensuring more precise comparisons; for example, when discussing sodium and saturated fats, you mention that snacks and breakfast share similar proportions, but providing the specific figures would strengthen the report. Overall, the response is well-focused and meets the requirements of the task effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'Meanwhile', 'Regarding', and 'Furthermore' to guide the reader through the information. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different nutrient categories. While the flow is generally good, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing, such as 'Together this two categories', which should be 'these two categories'. Despite these small errors, the progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportions', 'contributed', and 'represented' correctly. There are some minor errors in word choice, such as 'added meals' instead of 'added sugars' in the introduction, and 'share similar proportion' which should be 'share similar proportions'. Additionally, 'the fraction of snack was little higher' is slightly awkward; 'the proportion for snacks was slightly higher' would be more natural. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the meaning clearly, it lacks the variety and precision required for a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'snack accounted' (should be 'snacks accounted'), 'The fraction of snack was little higher' (missing 'a'), and 'Together this two categories' (should be 'these'). Punctuation is generally acceptable, though there are some inconsistent spaces before commas. While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, you should focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles, as well as ensuring more consistent control over complex sentence structures.
