Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features of the three nutrients across the four meal types. You have successfully selected key data points for comparison, such as the high sodium content in dinner and the prevalence of added sugar in snacks. However, the analysis is slightly hindered by some inaccurate reporting of the data; for instance, you state that 43% of sodium is used for dinner, but the chart indicates 43% for dinner, while your description of added sugar percentages is slightly confusing. To improve, ensure that your data extraction is precise and that you clearly distinguish between the three categories to avoid ambiguity.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Overall', and 'However' to guide the reader. However, the flow is occasionally disrupted by awkward phrasing and mechanical transitions. For example, the sentence 'breakfast have least choice among all three nutrients' is unclear in its reference. Additionally, the use of 'choice' to describe nutrient percentages is inappropriate. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus would help elevate the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'consumed', and 'nutrients'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice that affect clarity. Using 'choice' to refer to percentages is incorrect, and 'preferred' is not the best fit for describing nutrient intake in meals. There are also minor errors in collocation, such as 'USA people' instead of 'people in the USA'. To achieve a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that words are used in their correct context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'breakfast have least choice', 'Lunch and snack has been consumed') and article usage. Some sentences are also structurally awkward, such as 'which is the highest choice compare to other'. To improve, you should focus on subject-verb agreement and ensure that your comparisons are grammatically sound. Proofreading for basic errors in tense and pluralization will significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
