Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the task by identifying the main features of the charts. However, the analysis is somewhat inconsistent. While you correctly identify the highest values for each nutrient, the comparisons are occasionally confusing, such as the statement that Americans eat 'almost same percentages' for breakfast and lunch, which is not clearly supported by the data. The overview is present but could be more precise. To improve, ensure that your comparisons are mathematically accurate and that you highlight the most significant trends rather than listing individual data points, which can make the report feel like a collection of isolated facts.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'As far as, sodium is concerned that...' and 'high conducted during the lunch'. These errors in transition and linking phrases occasionally disrupt the flow of information. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the internal structure of sentences often lacks the necessary connectors to make the relationships between the data points clear. Improving the variety and accuracy of your linking words will help your ideas flow more naturally.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You have an adequate range of vocabulary to describe the charts, using terms like 'proportions', 'nutrients', and 'depicts'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'the consume of breakfast', 'high evaluated', and 'not sufficient in meals'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly unclear. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary. Avoid repeating the same verbs and try to use more varied ways to describe data trends, such as 'account for', 'constitute', or 'a significant proportion'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with word forms ('consume' instead of 'consumption'), articles, and sentence construction ('the majority of amount is included'). Some sentences are difficult to parse due to these errors, such as 'Whereas compared to sodium percentage of snack, it is bit higher consuming the snack'. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors limits the score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions to improve your accuracy.
