Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The response covers all parts of the task and provides a clear overview of the main features. You have successfully identified the key trends, such as dinner being the primary source of sodium and saturated fat, and snacks being the main source of added sugar. The data is accurately reported, and comparisons are made between the different meal types. To reach a higher band, ensure that the overview is more distinct and that the data points are grouped more logically to highlight the relationships between the nutrients rather than just listing percentages for each meal.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The essay is logically organized into an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs. There is a clear progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore' and 'While', though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. The paragraphing is appropriate for a report of this length. To improve, try to vary your linking phrases and ensure that referencing (e.g., 'the former', 'the latter') is used more effectively to avoid repetitive sentence structures when comparing the three charts.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'contributed', 'constituted', and 'intake'. However, there are several spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'propotion' (proportion), 'tasken' (taken), 'basic' (basis), and 'Saturated sugar' (which should be 'Saturated fat'). These errors are noticeable but do not impede overall communication. To achieve a higher score, focus on precision in terminology and ensure that you are using the correct collocations for academic writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'The three pie charts illustrates' (subject-verb agreement) and 'breakfast... constituted of' (incorrect preposition). Additionally, there are punctuation issues, such as the placement of commas and spaces. While these errors are frequent, they do not prevent the reader from understanding the information. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and proofreading for minor slips in tense and article usage.
