Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the three nutrients and comparing their consumption across four meal types. However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear overview or 'main features' summary at the beginning. While the data points are generally accurate, the description of the breakfast data as '15% almost' is imprecise. To reach a higher band, you should group the data more effectively—for example, by highlighting that dinner is the most unhealthy meal across all categories, rather than listing percentages meal by meal. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not add new insight.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For instance, 'As compare to breakfast' is grammatically incorrect and acts as a weak transition. The flow between sentences is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where data points are listed without smooth linking phrases. Paragraphing is present, but the logical progression of ideas could be improved by using more sophisticated signposting to compare the meals effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety. You rely heavily on basic terms like 'consumed', 'nutrients', and 'percentages'. There are also issues with word forms and collocations, such as 'has highest ratio' (should be 'has the highest proportion') and 'at same quantity' (should be 'in similar quantities'). The phrase 'which is respectively in percentages is' is awkward and reflects a limited ability to handle more complex reporting language. Expanding your vocabulary to include terms like 'account for', 'constitute', or 'proportionately' would improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'all of them will be unhealthy' (should be 'all of which are unhealthy'), 'snacks has highest' (subject-verb agreement error), and 'lunch has consume' (incorrect verb tense). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences or fragments, such as '...at last. which is respectively in percentages is 43%...'. These errors are frequent enough to prevent the response from reaching a higher band.
