Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

You have successfully identified the main features of the charts and provided a clear overview. You covered all three nutrients and all four meal categories, making relevant comparisons such as noting that dinner is highest for sodium and saturated fat, while snacks lead in added sugar. The data is accurately reported, and the response is well-structured to highlight the key trends. To reach a higher band, ensure you synthesize the data more effectively by grouping information rather than listing figures for each category sequentially, which can feel slightly repetitive.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. Each paragraph focuses on a specific nutrient, which makes the information easy to follow. You use cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'Similarly', and 'while' to connect ideas. However, the transition between the body paragraphs could be smoother to create a more cohesive flow. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is logical throughout the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 7.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'illustrate', 'account for', and 'consume'. The language is generally accurate and appropriate for a report. However, the vocabulary is somewhat repetitive, particularly the use of 'highest' and 'lowest' to describe the data. To improve, try to incorporate more varied synonyms for these descriptors and use more precise reporting verbs or nouns to describe the trends, which would demonstrate a more sophisticated lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 7.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures effectively. Most of your sentences are clear and error-free, which ensures that the information is communicated without difficulty. There is a minor punctuation error in 'at16%' where a space is missing, and some sentences could benefit from more varied structures to improve the flow. Overall, your control of grammar is good, and the errors present are infrequent and do not impede the reader's understanding of the data.
