Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the task by summarizing the information from the pie charts and making relevant comparisons. However, the overall structure and clarity suffer from vague statements like 'the amount of sodium and saturated fat are significantly high' without specific detail or trend explanations. The conclusion could be more explicitly tied to overall trends in meal healthiness across the three meal types. Therefore, while the task is recognized, the clarity and detail are lacking in some areas, leading to a score around Band 6.0 for Task Achievement.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The coherence of the response is somewhat affected by awkward phrasing and sentence structure, such as 'they have tendency to cause serious health issue' and 'In terms of , breakfast looks the most healthier'. While the information presented is organized, the lack of smooth transitions between ideas and a more logical structure diminishes overall coherence. A clearer introduction and conclusion, along with direct comparisons, could enhance the overall clarity. Therefore, a score of around Band 6.0 for Coherence and Cohesion is appropriate.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The lexical resource displayed a decent range, but several phrases are incorrect or poorly chosen, such as "more amount of sweeteners" instead of "higher amount of added sugar", and "balance amount" instead of "balanced amount". There are also some instances of awkward and unclear usage, such as "tendency to cause serious health issue". These issues impact the effectiveness of communication and clarity. Therefore, a Band 6.0 is suitable for Lexical Resource due to specific misuses and limited vocabulary variation.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
Grammatical range is reasonably demonstrated with varied sentence structures, but there are noticeable errors that inhibit clarity, such as subject-verb disagreement in 'the amount of sodium and saturated fat are significantly high' and misuse of articles with terms like 'the amount of sweeteners approximately 42%'. Overall, the grammatical errors impact the readability, leading to a score of Band 5.5 for Grammatical Range and Accuracy due to frequent errors that could hinder communication.
Overall feedback
Your response demonstrates a good understanding of the data presented in the pie charts and includes relevant comparisons. However, to improve, focus on enhancing the clarity of your analysis and ensuring that all statements are precise and well-structured. Pay attention to grammar and vocabulary to avoid awkward or incorrect expressions. Consider incorporating clearer transitions between different meal types to make your comparisons more effective. Practicing sentence structure and ensuring proper use of phrases will help in achieving a higher score overall.
