Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have successfully identified the main features of the charts, such as the high sodium and saturated fat levels at dinner and the peak sugar consumption during snacks. You have also made relevant comparisons between the categories. However, the response lacks a clear overview that synthesizes the data effectively; the final sentence is a bit weak. Additionally, the analysis is somewhat repetitive in its structure, listing percentages rather than grouping information to highlight trends. To improve, ensure you provide a more comprehensive summary of the overall trends in the introduction or conclusion and avoid simply listing data points.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The response is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information. You use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Moreover', and 'Overall' to link your ideas. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'People respondent there choices differently at temporal schedules.' The logical progression is present but could be smoother. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus rather than just moving from one nutrient to the next.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You have used a sufficient range of vocabulary to describe the data, such as 'percentages', 'consumed', 'nutrients', and 'schedules'. However, there are some word choice errors and awkward phrasing, such as 'the supplement of sodium has supplied maximum' and 'people respondent there choices'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on using more academic collocations and ensure that your word forms (e.g., 'respondent' vs 'respondents') are accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'the supplement of sodium has supplied maximum at dinner time about 43%', where the preposition and article usage are incorrect, and 'the items of ingredients prefer was most', which is grammatically disjointed. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the data, they are frequent enough to affect the overall fluency. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage will significantly improve your score.
