Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to address the core requirements of an Academic Task 1 report. You have only discussed sodium and ignored the data for saturated fats and added sugars entirely. Furthermore, the task requires a summary of the provided charts, but you have included external information about health risks (e.g., 'kidney stone', 'ulcer', 'Diabetes') which is not present in the data. To improve, you must describe all categories shown in the charts and focus strictly on comparing the provided figures rather than offering medical opinions or general knowledge.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is divided into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The introduction is fragmented, and the transition between the description of meals and the conclusion is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic and sometimes mechanical way, such as 'Additionally' and 'In conclusion'. The connection between the data points is not clearly established, making the report difficult to follow as a cohesive summary of the visual information.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. There are several spelling errors, such as 'suger' instead of 'sugar', 'beacuse' instead of 'because', 'kideney' instead of 'kidney', and 'Diabites' instead of 'Diabetes'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to describe the trends or comparisons in the charts effectively. You rely on basic phrasing like 'huge amount' and 'most unhealthiest', which is grammatically incorrect and lacks the precision required for an academic report.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('People do have', 'Nutrients are very important source') and incorrect comparative structures ('most unhealthiest'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before commas and periods. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often faulty. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, correct spelling, and ensuring that your verb forms and articles are used accurately.
