Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the requirements of an Academic Task 1 report. Instead of objectively summarizing the data, the response includes subjective commentary, such as labeling the nutrients as 'dangerous' or 'unhealthy,' which is not required. While you identified the main features, the presentation is fragmented and lacks a clear overview or synthesis. You have listed data points rather than comparing them effectively. To improve, focus on describing the trends and making direct comparisons between the three nutrients across the different meal types, while maintaining a neutral, analytical tone. Avoid personal opinions or moralizing about the healthiness of the food.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5

The organization is disjointed and lacks a logical flow. The use of headings like 'For 2nd Graph Summary' is inappropriate for an IELTS report, which should be written in cohesive paragraphs. There is a lack of linking words to connect ideas; sentences are often isolated, making the text feel like a list of observations rather than a coherent summary. Paragraphing is not used effectively to group related information. To improve, use transition signals (e.g., 'In contrast,' 'Furthermore,' 'Conversely') to link your sentences and ensure that each paragraph has a clear thematic focus, such as comparing the nutrients across meals.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms like 'graph,' 'meals,' and 'consumption.' There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'high intense sugar intake' and 'look out the First graph.' The tone is overly informal and conversational ('If we talk about diet plan now a days'), which is unsuitable for an academic report. To improve, aim to use more precise vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion,' 'account for,' 'fluctuate,' and 'predominant.' Avoid colloquialisms and focus on academic register.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the response, including subject-verb agreement ('The Chart below show'), article usage ('the american's'), and punctuation errors. Sentence structures are simple and often repetitive. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, which are necessary for higher band scores. For example, you often start sentences with 'If we...' or '3rd graph shows...', which limits your grammatical range. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and then incorporate complex structures using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions. Proofreading for basic errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency is essential.
