Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response does summarize some key features of the pie charts, specifically mentioning the nutrient distributions in meals. However, it lacks several critical comparisons and specific data points that would enhance clarity. For example, the response notes that dinner contains higher sodium but fails to specify the exact percentages. Additionally, the comparison between meals is not fully developed, particularly in illustrating differences in nutrient content. Overall, while basic trends are identified, more explicit comparisons and data would strengthen the Task Achievement score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The coherence and cohesion of the response are somewhat limited. Ideas flow in a basic linear process, but transitions between sentences and points are often awkward or unclear. For instance, the phrase "Noticeably, Added sugar is consumed more in snack" lacks smooth connectivity to preceding sentences. Furthermore, the use of linking devices could be improved for better readability, as the repetition of ‘consists of’ and ‘meal’ without variety creates a sense of redundancy. Overall, clearer structure and linking phrases would improve coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The lexical resource demonstrates some appropriate usage of vocabulary related to the topic, such as "saturated fat" and "added sugar". However, there are instances of vague expressions, such as "high quantity" and "least part", which could benefit from more precise terms. Furthermore, some words are used incorrectly; for example, "snack constitutes of" should be corrected to "snack constitutes". A wider range of vocabulary and more accurate word choices would enhance the overall quality of the language used in the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

Grammatical range and accuracy are areas needing significant improvement. There are frequent mistakes in tense and article usage, such as "The three pie-charts shows" (should be "show") and errors in subject-verb agreement. The sentence structures also lack complexity; most sentences are simple or compound without any use of complex structures. Incorporating more varied sentence types and ensuring grammatical accuracy would enhance clarity and sophistication.

Overall feedback

Your response shows a basic understanding of the task and presents some key features of the pie charts, but it requires more detail and specific data to fully achieve the task requirements. Focus on making clear comparisons and summarizing key statistics for each meal type. Strengthen cohesion by using more varied linking phrases and transitions between thoughts. Additionally, work on improving grammatical accuracy and expanding your vocabulary to express ideas more precisely. Practicing these aspects will likely increase your effectiveness in conveying information clearly and completing the task requirements.
