Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response successfully identifies the main features of the charts and makes relevant comparisons. You have clearly highlighted the key trends, such as dinner being the primary source of sodium and saturated fats, while snacks dominate added sugar intake. The overview is clear and effectively summarises the data. However, the report could be improved by ensuring all data points are presented with greater precision and avoiding minor inaccuracies in data reporting, such as the repetition of '14 and 14 percent' for snacks and breakfast in the sodium category, which requires careful checking against the source data. Overall, the task is well-addressed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organised into four paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the information easily. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'Overall', 'In contrast', and 'regarding', to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by mechanical phrasing and some awkward transitions between sentences. For example, the start of the final paragraph ('The distribution pattern changes for added sugar now this time...') is slightly repetitive and lacks a sophisticated cohesive link. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between the body paragraphs would elevate the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'contributor', and 'consumption'. However, there are several spelling errors ('sodiam', 'Asimilar', 'coverd26%') and some word choice issues, such as 'illustrates about' (which should simply be 'illustrates') and 'now this time'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the score. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure careful proofreading to eliminate basic spelling mistakes.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with punctuation, missing articles, and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'dinner contain', 'snack account is'). Punctuation is inconsistent, with some sentences missing full stops or having misplaced commas. While you attempt to use complex structures, the errors in basic grammar and punctuation are noticeable. Focusing on sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement will help improve your accuracy.
