Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. While you have identified some main features, the report is incomplete and ends abruptly with the word 'Futher'. The analysis of the data is fragmented, and you have not provided a comprehensive overview or a clear comparison of all categories across the four meal types. To improve, ensure you cover all data points provided in the charts and provide a cohesive summary that meets the length requirement. The current response is too brief to fully address the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a clear structure. While there is an attempt at an introduction and body paragraphs, the abrupt ending and lack of logical flow between sentences hinder coherence. Cohesive devices are used sparingly and sometimes incorrectly, such as 'By comprasions' (which is also a spelling error). The paragraphing is inconsistent, and the transition between the discussion of dinner and lunch is disjointed. To improve, use linking words like 'in contrast', 'furthermore', or 'consequently' to connect ideas and ensure each paragraph has a clear focus.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You frequently use the word 'amount' and 'proportion' in a way that is not always precise. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'comprasions' and 'Satuarted'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for higher bands. To improve, try to use a wider variety of synonyms for 'increase', 'decrease', 'highest', and 'lowest', and ensure you check your spelling carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'saturated fat and added sugar has equal percentage') and preposition errors (e.g., 'accounted the largest proportion on dinner'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of complex sentence forms. Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the overall control of grammar is weak. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures and subject-verb agreement before attempting more complex grammatical constructions.
