Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response covers all parts of the task by reporting the main features of the three nutrients across the four meal times. The student attempts comparisons, noting that sodium is highest at dinner (43%) and added sugar peaks in snacks (42%). However, the overview is repetitive and merely restates the prompt rather than giving a clear summary of overall trends. Some data is described in a slightly colloquial or imprecise way (e.g., 'saturated fat contains on second number'). While all charts are addressed, the lack of a proper overarching trend statement and some loose data handling keep this performance at a Band 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay has some organisation, grouping information by meals and nutrients, but progression is hindered by repetitive introductory sentences and a fragmented paragraph structure. Cohesive devices are basic and sometimes misused, such as 'Morever, In breakfast' and 'Furthermore, In lunch'. Paragraphing is attempted, but individual paragraphs are very short and lack internal cohesion. Referencing and logical sequencing are occasionally faulty, leading to a mechanical flow that makes the relationships between ideas difficult to follow smoothly, fitting the Band 5 descriptor.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is relatively basic and repetitive, with frequent reliance on simple words like 'top', 'highest level', and 'big difference'. There are several noticeable lexical and collocational errors, such as 'availibilty' (availability), 'easten' (eaten), 'contains on second number', and spelling errors like 'precentage'. The range of vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the data, but these recurring slips cause some distraction for the reader and prevent the text from achieving a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is weak. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the response, including missing articles ('in daily meal', 'at top'), incorrect prepositions ('in snacks', 'on second number'), and awkward phrasing ('nutrients those can be harmful'). While meaning is generally communicated despite these errors, the high frequency of inaccurate structures and basic punctuation/capitalisation mistakes (e.g., 'Morever') places this firmly at Band 5.0.
