Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The student covers the main features of the charts, noting key percentages for sodium, saturated fats, and added sugars across breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks. However, there is a minor misinterpretation in the text: the student states that snacks include a paramount amount of unhealthy nutrients overall, whereas the data specifically shows that snacks peak in added sugar (42%), while dinner peaks in sodium (43%) and saturated fat (37%). An overview is attempted, but it is somewhat fragmented and repetitive at the end. Despite these minor issues, the key data points are largely reported accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response is arranged with an introduction, body paragraphs addressing different meals, and a concluding sentence. However, the paragraphing is a bit disjointed, and the final sentence repeats the introduction without adding fresh closure. Cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'along with that' are used, but sometimes mechanical or awkward. Progression is generally logical, moving from dinner and lunch to breakfast, but the overall structural flow requires better integration to achieve a higher band score.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

The student attempts a range of vocabulary appropriate to the task, using terms such as 'consumption', 'nutrients', 'deteriorate health', and 'ingested'. However, there are multiple spelling errors throughout the text, including 'illustrates' used with a plural noun ('charts illustrates'), 'through out', 'inculde' (repeated multiple times for 'include'), and 'soduim'. These errors slightly detract from the overall quality, placing the response firmly in the Band 6 range for lexical resource.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

The student demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, such as relative clauses and participial phrases ('which can deteriorate health if devoured too much'). There are several grammatical errors and typos, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('charts illustrates') and spelling mistakes ('inculde', 'depecits'). Punctuation is occasionally faulty, such as spaces placed before commas. Nevertheless, the meaning remains clear throughout, and communication is not impeded by these structural and mechanical errors.
