Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response only minimally addresses the task, falling well short of the 150-word minimum length requirement by stopping abruptly at just 90 words. While you attempted to highlight some key features, such as the highest percentage of sodium and saturated fat in dinner and added sugar in snacks, the information is incomplete and cuts off mid-sentence. To reach a higher level, you must ensure you write at least 150 words, provide a fully developed overview, and report all main features and comparisons without trailing off.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response into an introduction, an overview, and body paragraphs, which gives it some basic structure. However, the overall progression is heavily disrupted because the text ends abruptly. Cohesive devices are basic and sometimes repetitive or awkwardly placed, such as using 'To begin with' and 'In addition' mechanically. Pronoun referencing is also weak in places, such as 'it be seen'. Improving logical flow and completing the full length of the task are essential steps for better cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is very basic and repetitive, such as repeatedly using 'percentage', 'consumed', and 'sodium'. There are noticeable spelling and word choice errors, including 'fates' instead of fats, 'breakast' instead of breakfast, and unnatural phrases like 'added sugar more used in snacks'. These errors reflect a limited and minimally adequate range. To improve, you should try to incorporate a wider variety of synonyms and less common lexical items related to data reporting, and check your spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response shows a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple clauses with frequent and basic errors. There are missing verbs and auxiliary errors, such as 'The three pie charts illustrates' (subject-verb agreement), 'it be seen' (missing modal or auxiliary), and 'breakfast and snack consumed 14% of sodium' where prepositions and articles are missing or misused. Punctuation and capitalization are also inconsistent. To progress, you need to use a wider mix of simple and complex sentence forms with greater accuracy in verb tenses and agreement.
