Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify several relevant comparisons: dinner has the highest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks account for the largest share of added sugar. The figures of 43%, 37%, and 42% are accurate. However, the response is incomplete: it gives no clear overview of all three patterns, omits breakfast figures, and only vaguely describes lunch as “average” or “so small.” The claim that dinner’s 23% of added sugar is “small” needs a clearer comparison with the other meals. The response also ends with “In my opinion” and does not complete the thought. It contains 106 words, below the 150-word minimum; 14 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count. Develop the comparisons and report the main features more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to group information by nutrient and compare meal types, so the reader can identify some of the intended contrasts. However, ideas are not arranged into a clear, complete progression. The response moves abruptly from dinner to added sugar, then snacks and lunch, without an opening overview or a concluding summary. Repeated transitions such as “In added sugar” and “While as, compared to” do not clearly show how the points relate, and the final fragment “In my opinion” leaves the response unfinished. Organise the report into a brief overview followed by comparisons of the meal patterns, and use linking phrases only where they clarify the relationship between figures.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “percentages,” “highest amount,” and “compared to,” and the reader can generally recognise which nutrients and meals are being discussed. However, the vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and several choices are inaccurate or awkward enough to strain understanding. For example, “uncomfortable” does not describe nutrients that may be unhealthy, “the charts down illustrate” is not a natural way to introduce the visuals, and “the snack is utilize” does not express the intended comparison. “Big” and “small” are imprecise for describing proportions. Use accurate chart-reporting terms such as “account for,” “proportion,” and “share,” and check spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “as compared to,” but sentence structures are very limited and frequent errors make several statements difficult to follow. The opening sentence has an unclear structure, while “the highest amount of dinner 43%of dinner” lacks a clear grammatical relationship between the meal and the figure. Other problems include missing spaces and punctuation, inconsistent capitalisation, and incomplete constructions such as “The amount of lunch is utilize…” The ending, “In my opinion,” is also a sentence fragment. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, for example, “Dinner accounts for 43% of sodium intake,” and separate comparisons with accurate punctuation.
