Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify the main pattern that dinner accounts for the largest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks contribute the most added sugar. However, the overview is not consistently accurate: dinner is described as the “wholesome meal,” and the claim that it has “great amount of nutrients” is not a suitable interpretation of percentages of potentially unhealthy nutrients. Several figures are assigned to the wrong meals. For sodium, 14% is breakfast and snack, 29% lunch, and 43% dinner, but your sequence labels 14% as dinner and 43% as the final meal. For added sugar, 42% belongs to snacks, not the third meal. Select the key comparisons accurately and report each figure against the correct meal.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure and moves from a general description to details about the three nutrients. Linking phrases such as “As a matter of fact” and “however” show an attempt to connect ideas. Nevertheless, the progression is difficult to follow because meal order changes between sentences: the sodium figures are listed in an unclear sequence, and “the second,” “the third” and “the last meal” make the added-sugar comparison hard to track. Some transitions are also vague, as in “While other source of nourishment keeps fluctuating.” Organise the body by nutrient or meal, keep the same meal order throughout, and use clear references such as “breakfast” and “snacks” rather than ordinal labels.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant vocabulary, including “proportion,” “saturated fat,” “added sugar” and “excessive,” and you attempt a range of expressions to describe the data. However, several choices are imprecise or unnatural for a chart report. “Wholesome meal” suggests a health judgement that the chart does not support, while “nutrients are good” and “added sugar is poured up” are unsuitable or unclear. “Source of nourishment” and “type of intake” are also unnecessarily vague. Prefer precise reporting language such as “accounts for,” “share,” and “contributes,” and avoid adding claims about packaging or disease that are not shown in the visual.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “however” and a clause beginning “which includes.” However, errors in sentence structure and agreement occur frequently enough to make parts of the response awkward. For example, “The diagrams demonstrates” has a subject–verb agreement error, and “each substances” has incorrect number agreement. The opening sentence also uses a semicolon awkwardly before a list, while “Dinner is the wholesome meal which have” contains errors in article use and verb agreement. Some long sentences combine several ideas without clear grammatical control. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, singular and plural forms, and shorter sentence patterns when reporting comparisons.
