Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main pattern that dinner accounts for the largest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks lead for added sugar. The figures you give for sodium (43%, 29% and 14%) are accurate, and the comparison between dinner’s sodium and saturated-fat shares is relevant. However, the report is only partly complete: it stops while discussing added sugar, gives no figures for saturated fat at breakfast or snacks, and does not clearly compare all three nutrients. The overview also calls breakfast the lowest for all nutrients, although snacks are lowest for saturated fat and breakfast and lunch are lower than snacks for added sugar. A fuller account of the remaining values and a more precise overview would make the key features clearer and better developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, an overview and a detail paragraph, and the discussion generally moves from sodium to saturated fat and then added sugar. This gives the reader some sense of the intended structure. However, progression is weakened by repeated phrasing such as “in sodium contain food” and by unclear links, including “In comparision to the added sugar 10% decrease then sodium.” The final sentence is cut off, so the report does not reach a clear conclusion to its data description. Use separate, focused paragraphs for the overview and comparisons, and connect figures with precise references such as “by contrast” or “whereas.”
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses some task-relevant terms, including “percentage,” “dinner,” “lunch,” “saturated fat” and “added sugar,” so the topic is recognisable. However, vocabulary is limited and repeated, and several inaccurate word choices make meaning difficult to follow. Phrases such as “hike in figure,” “significant lower” and “foods high percentage” are not natural ways to describe chart data. There are also frequent spelling errors, including “diffrents,” “deffrent,” “higest” and “comparision.” Aim for accurate collocations such as “accounted for,” “the highest proportion” and “was lower than,” and check spelling carefully. This would make the comparisons more precise and easier to understand.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer comparisons, but control of sentence structure is inconsistent. Several sentences lack a clear grammatical frame, for example, “In sodium contain food show high amount of dinner,” while “lunch is significant lower than sodium” does not form a complete, clear comparison. Articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries are also often missing or inaccurate, as in the opening sentence and the run-on sequence beginning “In saturated fat meals consume food hike in dinner.” These problems sometimes make the intended relationships between figures hard to interpret. Practise building complete subject–verb sentences, then add comparisons with structures such as “Dinner accounted for…” and “This was lower than…”.
