Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You identify the main pattern accurately: dinner has the largest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks account for the most added sugar. Several figures are also reported correctly, including sodium at 43% for dinner and 29% for lunch, and added sugar at 42% for snacks. This gives the response a clear overview and covers the charts. However, the saturated-fat figures are misassigned: dinner is 37% and lunch is 26%, but you write “second most portion taken in lunch which is 37% and 26% respectively,” reversing them. The comparison that sugar at dinner is “just $% more” than lunch is unclear, and the breakfast figure for sugar could be compared more explicitly. More precise reporting and fuller comparisons would strengthen an otherwise relevant summary.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and a paragraph describing the chart details. The overview effectively groups sodium and saturated fat against added sugar, and phrases such as “Overall” and “However” help signal relationships. The progression becomes less clear in the final paragraph, where all three nutrients are discussed in one long sequence and the comparison between sugar at dinner and lunch is difficult to follow. Some linking is also mechanical or imprecise, as in “In the very mean time” and “Eventually.” Organise the details into clearer comparisons, and use linking expressions only when they accurately show contrast or sequence. This would make the overall arrangement easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “portion,” “consumption,” “major,” and “respectively,” and the reader can generally understand the intended comparisons. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “nutrients is taken much,” “the minor portion,” and “suger consumed.” Repetition of “portion” and “consume” also makes the description less precise. Spelling errors such as “separeted,” “suger,” and “luch” are noticeable, while “$%” appears to be an editing error that obscures the comparison. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “accounted for,” “the highest proportion,” and “was consumed,” and proofread spelling and symbols carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including comparisons with “Like sodium…” and “However…,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement and verb forms appear in “There are three separeted pie chart, shows us…” and “Added suger is the only nutrients which is consume most.” Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention: “the two kind of nutrients is taken” should use plural forms, and the opening sentence joins clauses without a suitable structure. The final sentence contains a fragment-like construction and unclear punctuation around “$%.” These errors sometimes make relationships harder to interpret, although the main message remains understandable. Build accuracy first with complete sentences, then add complex comparisons using reliable clause patterns.
