Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5

You identify the main patterns accurately: dinner has the largest shares of sodium (43%) and saturated fat (37%), while snacks lead for added sugar (42%). The overview also notes breakfast’s low contribution, and the body includes the key meal-by-meal figures, so the response addresses the task with relevant support. The comparison that breakfast and snacks each account for 14% of sodium is also correct. To make the account more fully developed, state the overall contrast between the distributions more precisely—for example, sodium and saturated fat are concentrated at dinner, whereas added sugar is concentrated in snacks. Avoid unsupported implications such as the final claim that nutritional content varies considerably; describe the chart’s proportions directly instead.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for sodium, saturated fat and added sugar. This makes the information generally easy to follow, and transitions such as “However” signal the shift to the different sugar pattern. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or disrupted by punctuation and sentence-boundary problems, such as “Dinner contributes highest percentage at , 37% ,While lunch…” and “Breakfast the lowest proportion…”. The conclusion repeats the overview rather than adding a useful comparison. Improve progression by grouping the shared dinner-led patterns together, then contrasting them with added sugar, and use linking phrases only where they clarify a relationship.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “accounts,” “represents,” “share,” “proportion” and “contributes,” and terms such as “largest” and “lowest” help communicate comparisons. However, the range is limited by repeated use of “accounts” and “percentage,” while several noticeable spelling errors—“staurated,” “Regardind,” “acoount,” “diffrent” and “Snaks”—reduce accuracy and polish. Some collocations are also unnatural, including “Snacks are the main course” and “biggest countributor.” Choose precise, conventional language for describing data, and proofread spelling carefully. A wider set of accurate terms for shares and rankings would make the report more flexible without sacrificing clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of sentence forms, including comparisons and subordinate clauses, as in “which is the same proportion of snacks” and “while lunch contributes 19%.” However, grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors occur in basic sentence construction as well as longer sentences. Examples include “the dinner accounts the higher proportion,” which lacks a necessary preposition and article structure, and “Breakfast the lowest proportion,” which is a sentence fragment. There are also agreement and article problems in “A similar patterns” and “the breakfast lowest figure.” Punctuation around commas and capital letters is frequently faulty. Practise complete subject–verb sentences and check articles, agreement and sentence boundaries before submitting.
