Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main contrast accurately: dinner has the largest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks lead for added sugar. The figures you report—such as 43% sodium at dinner, 37% saturated fat at dinner, and 42% added sugar in snacks—match the chart, and you also include useful breakfast and lunch comparisons. However, the overview is incomplete: “Overall, the large proportion” is left unfinished, and the following overview does not clearly summarise the full pattern. The claim that breakfast and lunch are “the lowest proportion” is also imprecise, since lunch is not the lowest for sodium or saturated fat. Develop the overview into a complete comparison and distinguish the lowest meal for each nutrient.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some useful organisation: the response begins with an introduction, attempts an overview, and then groups details into paragraphs about dinner/snacks and breakfast/lunch. This gives the reader a basic route through the information. However, progression is weakened by the unfinished overview, “Overall, the large proportion,” and by abrupt or unclear links such as “while” and “on the othe side.” Several comparisons are packed into long sentences, making the relationships between figures harder to follow. The repeated use of “while” and “but” also feels mechanical. Use a complete overview, give each paragraph a clear focus, and connect comparisons with precise transitions such as “by contrast” or “whereas.”
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “proportion,” “segment,” “peak,” and “declined,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons you intend. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, for example “dinner rapidlly declined in saturated fat” and “breakfast had minimal percentages of typical meals.” “Accounted a large proportion” is also not a natural way to describe a chart share. Spelling errors such as “demostrate,” “percetages,” and “incresed” are noticeable and reduce precision. Aim for standard reporting phrases and check spelling carefully; accurate, natural wording will make the data descriptions clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts both simple statements and longer comparisons, and some data clauses are understandable, such as “Sodium indicates at 14%” in context. However, control of sentence structure is limited, and errors often make relationships unclear. Examples include the fragment “Overall, the large proportion,” missing or misplaced articles in “The typical (dinner) was accounted a large proportion,” and agreement problems in “snack were indicate.” Several sentences also run together without appropriate punctuation, as in “Sodium has high number of percentages in dinner at 43%. while…” Use complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and practise accurate comparative structures, for example, “Dinner accounted for 43% of sodium intake, compared with 14% at breakfast.”
