Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You report the figures accurately for all three nutrients, including the key values for dinner and snacks, and you identify dinner as the highest sodium category. However, the overview is incomplete: it does not clearly compare the overall patterns, especially that dinner is highest for sodium and saturated fat while snacks lead for added sugar. The statement that all categories show “mixed results with some fluctuations” is vague and does not summarise the chart’s main contrasts. The response also contains 137 words, below the required 150, which limits the development of the summary. Add a concise overview of the main comparisons and use the remaining space to explain the most notable differences.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a basic structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate sections for sodium, saturated fat, and added sugar. This makes the information reasonably easy to locate. However, progression is limited because the overview is vague, and the body mostly lists figures rather than building comparisons between the nutrients. Several linking phrases, such as “Taking about” and “Pouring some light on,” are awkward and draw attention to the transitions rather than helping the reader follow the data. Aim for a clearer overview followed by grouped comparisons—for example, compare dinner’s high shares of sodium and saturated fat with the snack peak for added sugar—and use simple, accurate connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “average percentages,” “categories,” “values,” and “share,” and the nutrient names are generally clear. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “pai charts,” “eathen,” “date,” and “proupr.” Phrases such as “values were quite interesting” and “Pouring some light on” are not natural choices for a formal data summary. Prefer precise, neutral language such as “accounted for,” “stood at,” and “the highest proportion.” Check spelling carefully and avoid conversational or decorative expressions so that the figures, rather than the phrasing, remain the focus.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the reader can generally understand the figures being reported. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in agreement and sentence construction. For example, “The charts compares” should use a plural verb, while “both snack and breakfast was the lowest” needs a plural verb and a clearer construction. The sentence beginning “For some more understanding heading towards saturated fat” is incomplete, and “its had values” is not a well-formed clause. There is also limited variety in accurate structures, with much of the body relying on lists. Practise complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and punctuation before submitting.
