Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You report several figures accurately, including sodium at breakfast (14%), lunch (29%), dinner (43%) and snacks (14%), and identify dinner as the highest sodium meal. However, the response covers the charts only minimally: most of the saturated-fat figures are omitted, and for added sugar you mention only the snack figure. The comparison that added sugar is lower than sodium is too broad, since added sugar is higher in snacks (42% versus 14%) and lower at the other meals. Health claims about effects on the liver, thyroid and people’s health are not shown by the charts and take space away from describing the data. Give a clear overview of the main contrasts, then report representative figures for all three nutrients without adding unsupported explanations.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The headings for “Sodium,” “Saturated Fat” and “Added Sugar” make the three topics easy to locate, and the sodium figures are presented in a generally understandable sequence. However, the response does not develop a clear overall progression or connect the charts through meaningful comparisons. Repeated openings such as “The average percentage…” and “The people of USA…” make the account feel like separate notes rather than a summary. Some links are also unclear: “So its average persantage is less than sodium persantage” does not specify which meal or figures are being compared. Organise the response around an overview followed by grouped comparisons, and use clear references such as “by contrast” or “while” to show how the meal patterns differ.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses a small set of relevant chart terms, including “average percentage,” “consumed,” “breakfast,” “snack” and “dinner,” so the basic subject is recognisable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and often inaccurate or unsuitable for an objective chart report. Phrases such as “more uses of sodium in life,” “highly affact the life” and “makes more olily body” do not express the data clearly, while health effects are not relevant to the visual. There are also frequent spelling and word-form problems, including “persantage,” “lanch,” “mostely” and “useage.” Build a more precise reporting vocabulary, for example “accounted for,” “proportion” and “highest share,” and check spelling and collocations before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to communicate several complete ideas, and simple clauses such as “they used 14% of sodium” are broadly understandable. However, sentence structures are very limited and errors occur frequently, sometimes making relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “Sodium is a type of nutrients to typically meal,” “The average percentage of sodium in USA is they used 14%,” and “The saturated fat is makes…” These show problems with articles, agreement, verb forms and sentence construction. Punctuation and spacing are also inconsistent, as in “health .In lanch” and “gland .So.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine comparisons with controlled structures such as “Dinner accounts for 43%, whereas breakfast and snacks each account for 14%.”
