Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main pattern that dinner accounts for the largest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks lead for added sugar. These are relevant comparisons, and the figures of 43%, 37% and 42% are accurate. However, the overview is unclear and partly inaccurate: the nutrients are not generally consumed most in “snacks and dinner,” since sodium and saturated fat peak at dinner, whereas added sugar peaks at snacks. The lunch figures are also described vaguely as “approximately 20 to 25%,” although sodium is 29%, saturated fat 26% and added sugar 19%. Breakfast is the lowest category for sodium and saturated fat, but not added sugar. A clearer overview and more precise coverage of all three charts would make the report more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to an overview and then to details, so the reader can recognise an attempt to organise the report. However, progression within and between paragraphs is limited. The overview combines several ideas in the unclear phrase “the main portion … are … as snacks and dinner,” and the final paragraph repeats the point about breakfast without clearly linking it to the earlier comparisons. Connectors such as “But,” “as we talk about,” and “for least consumption” do not reliably show the relationships between the data. Group the information by nutrient or meal, and use direct comparisons—for example, contrast dinner’s sodium peak with the snack peak for added sugar.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “consumption,” “sodium,” “saturated fat,” “added sugar,” and “percentage,” which helps identify the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning difficult to follow. “The main portion of … consumption” is not a natural way to describe chart shares, while “use” and “depend for the food” are imprecise for nutrient percentages. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “suger,” “commanly,” and “aproximately,” and “minerals” incorrectly labels the nutrients. Use precise terms such as “accounted for,” “share,” and “nutrient,” and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, but the range is limited and errors recur, sometimes making relationships between ideas hard to understand. For example, “The main portion … are” has subject–verb disagreement, and “the things that people mainly depend for the food” has an incomplete grammatical pattern. In “more consumption of sugar and fat cause health problems that causes our health,” agreement and clause structure are faulty. The final sentence, “Most people do not use it in breakfast like do not more than 16%,” is also difficult to interpret because its clauses are not formed clearly. Practise accurate simple comparisons first, then add subordinate clauses while checking agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
