Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify the main contrasts accurately: dinner has the highest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks lead for added sugar. You also include relevant figures, such as 43% and 37% at dinner and 42% for snack-time added sugar. However, the overview is brief and the comparison that breakfast is lowest in all three nutrients is inaccurate: breakfast and snacks are tied at 14% for sodium, and breakfast is not lowest for added sugar because its 16% is below neither? In fact, breakfast is lower than the other meals for added sugar, so this point is correct. Some details are unclear or under-developed, particularly the lunch comparison and the claim that its added-sugar share is comparatively lower. A clearer overview and more precise comparisons across all meals would make the report more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, a summary of the main patterns, and a paragraph of figures. This helps the reader follow the broad message. However, progression within the final paragraph is uneven: it moves from dinner to breakfast, then lunch, and finally snacks without a clear organising principle. Several links are also awkward or repetitive, such as “while” appearing repeatedly, and “which is comparetively lower then other” does not clearly show what is being compared. Grouping the figures by nutrient or by meal would create a more logical sequence. Use linking expressions selectively and make references explicit so each comparison connects smoothly to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary, including “percentage,” “intake,” “account,” and “dominate,” and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural: “The dinner account highest percentage” and “contribute significant ratio” do not express the data clearly, while “snak,” “sodim,” and “comparetively” contain spelling errors. “Three type of meal nutrient” is also an imprecise description of the chart. Aim for standard chart-reporting phrases such as “accounts for the largest share” and “the proportion of added sugar.” More accurate spelling and natural collocations would make your vocabulary more effective and precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your response communicates the main comparisons, but grammatical control is inconsistent. The opening sentence has agreement and article problems: “The chart illustrate” should be “The charts illustrate,” and “three type” needs a plural form. Other examples include “Breakfast hs the lowest percentage” and the incomplete construction “In sodium and saturated fat contribute significant ratio in dinner.” The sentence beginning “Sodium and saturated fat has” also needs subject–verb agreement, and several clauses are joined in ways that make their relationships unclear. Most sentences rely on simple patterns, with limited accurate use of more complex structures. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, articles, and punctuation during revision.
