Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main contrast: dinner has the largest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks account for the most added sugar. Several figures are also reported accurately, including sodium at 14% for breakfast and 43% for dinner, and added sugar at 42% for snacks. However, the overview is not fully accurate when it says breakfast has the lowest percentage for all three nutrients: breakfast and lunch are both below dinner and snacks for added sugar, with breakfast at 16% and lunch at 19%. The claim that sodium is the highest “among” the nutrients is also unclear because the charts compare meal shares separately for each nutrient. More precise comparisons, especially between dinner and snacks across all three charts, would make the summary more complete and clear.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, an overview and detail paragraphs, and it groups some information by meal. This gives the reader a basic route through the charts. However, progression is limited: the final paragraph repeats snack figures already given, and the sentence “Snack and dinner the peak portion in all over chart” does not clearly explain which meal leads for which nutrient. Linking phrases such as “Looking the charts in more detail” and “In order to” do not accurately signal the relationship between the information that follows. Organise the details around the key comparisons—dinner for sodium and saturated fat, and snacks for added sugar—and avoid repeating figures.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “average proportion,” “nutrients,” “lowest,” and “peak portion,” so the topic is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the meaning difficult to follow, such as “average held there,” “taken much for snack,” and “Snack significantly incress.” Spelling errors, including “suger,” “higst,” and “increses,” are noticeable and reduce precision. Some phrases also use the wrong form or an unnatural expression, for example “three kind of nutrients like as.” Build a reliable set of terms for describing proportions and comparisons, such as “accounted for,” “represented,” “highest share,” and “compared with,” and check spelling before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
There are attempts to use longer sentences and comparison structures, but many are incomplete or inaccurately formed, so the reader sometimes has to infer the intended meaning. For example, “in all three nutrients the lowest percent use in breakfast” lacks a clear subject and a correctly formed verb, while “sodium and saturated fat are higst ammount take in dinner” has problems with sentence structure and verb form. Articles, plurals and prepositions are also inconsistent, as in “three kind of nutrients” and “in breakfast.” Most sentences rely on simple patterns, and attempts to connect clauses do not yet show reliable control. Practise writing complete subject–verb sentences first, then add comparisons using accurate forms such as “Dinner accounted for 43% of sodium.”
