Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You cover all three nutrients and give a clear overview: dinner has the largest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks lead for added sugar. Most figures are reported accurately, including the key highs and lows. However, the overview says breakfast “always has the lowest percentages,” which is not true for saturated fat: breakfast is lowest at 16%, but snacks are higher at 21%, and dinner is highest. The later comparison also contradicts itself by saying snacks have the highest saturated fat, then describing breakfast as lowest; the data actually show dinner at 37% as the highest. Correcting this inconsistency and making the overview more precise would make the main features more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, a summary of the main patterns, and separate discussion of sodium, saturated fat and added sugar. This makes the information easy to follow, and phrases such as “For Sodium” and “In the case of added suger” signal topic changes. However, the saturated-fat paragraph is difficult to follow because it first says dinner leads, then claims snacks account for the highest portion, and then says breakfast is lowest. The overview’s claim about breakfast also conflicts with the later details. Use clearer comparisons and check that each paragraph supports the overview; linking the figures consistently would provide stronger progression.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “representing,” “contributes,” “accounts for,” “leading,” and “portion.” These choices help describe proportions and comparisons, and the meaning is generally clear. However, some wording is imprecise or awkward, such as “the large difference in these meals,” “near the half,” and “the lowest to added suger intake.” There are also spelling errors in “suger,” “pattren,” and “diffrence,” and inconsistent capitalisation of “Sodium.” Aim for accurate spelling and more natural collocations, for example, “a marked difference,” “nearly half,” and “the lowest share of added sugar.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple statements and more developed structures, including “with dinner leading at 37% and lunch following at 26%” and “while lunch accounts for 19%.” Most sentences communicate the intended comparisons, but some grammatical errors remain. In the introduction, use “three nutrients (sodium, saturated fat and added sugar) in four meals,” rather than “three nutrients(sodium, saturated fat, added suger) in four meal.” In “snacks accounts,” the plural subject requires “account.” The phrase “as compared to the breakfast it has” also needs clearer sentence structure, such as “compared with breakfast, which has the lowest figure.” Check articles, plurals and punctuation around clauses to improve accuracy.
