Student answer (Band 6.5)

The pie charts compares the proportion of different nutrients in typical meals if these taken excessively it affects the human health. Overall, it is apparent that sodium and saturated fats was in higher concentration in dinner except added sugar. However, the percentage of the added sugar was higher in snacks, while in breakfast all of these nutrients are present in lower percentage.

Firstly, the average percentage of the sodium in lunch accounted for 29%, while the dinner contain sodium is 43% which is significantly higher than other meals. In addition, the proportion of sodium in snacks and breakfast is same about 14%. The percentage of saturated fat is account for 16% in breakfast which is follow by launch at 26% and snacks contain 21% of saturated fat. Similarly, saturated fat is present in higher proportion in dinner meal.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0

You identify the main pattern accurately: dinner has the highest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks lead for added sugar. The overview also notes breakfast’s relatively low figures, and the body includes relevant comparisons such as sodium at 43% in dinner versus 14% in breakfast and snacks. Most reported values match the chart. To make the account more fully precise, clarify that breakfast is not the lowest meal for every nutrient: for added sugar, lunch is lowest at 19%, compared with 16% at breakfast only if the chart is read as shown—actually breakfast is 16%, so it is lower; instead, state the specific comparisons clearly. Also report the added-sugar figures for lunch and breakfast rather than describing them only as similar. This would make the selected data more consistently developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction and overview are followed by paragraphs comparing the meal categories, with a contrast introduced for added sugar. This gives the reader a generally logical route through the information. The linking expressions “Overall,” “Firstly,” “In addition,” and “In contrast” help signal the stages of the account. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear, particularly “The percentage of saturated fat is account for 16% … which is follow by launch at 26% and snacks contain 21%.” The order of comparisons is difficult to follow, and “Similarly” does not clearly connect the dinner figure to the preceding details. Grouping each nutrient’s figures in a consistent order and using clearer references would strengthen progression and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use a reasonable range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “accounted for,” “higher concentration,” and “considerable percentage,” so the chart is generally understandable. There are also attempts to vary wording rather than repeat “percentage” throughout. However, several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing data: “nutrients composition,” “present in higher proportion,” and “contain sodium is 43%” do not form natural collocations. Spelling errors such as “similiar” and “launch” (apparently intended to mean “lunch”) also reduce precision. Aim for standard chart language such as “the share of sodium,” “made up,” and “was highest,” and check spelling carefully. This would make your adequate vocabulary more accurate and flexible.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast with “while” and a relative clause in “which is significantly higher than other meals.” Meaning is usually recoverable, but grammatical control is uneven, with errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “The pie charts compares” should use a plural verb, while “sodium and saturated fats was” needs a plural verb. The opening clause “if these taken excessively it affects” is missing a verb form and has unclear agreement. Other examples include “the dinner contain” and “is account for.” Work on forming complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement and tense in each sentence. More accurate control of these patterns would improve readability.
