Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You identify the subject as three charts about nutrients in meals and begin an overview, but the response does not report any of the chart’s actual figures or meaningful comparisons. The statement that the charts show “mainly diverse proportion” is unclear, and “Breakfast is fluctuated for only two percentages” does not accurately describe the data: breakfast is 14% for sodium and 16% for both saturated fat and added sugar. The final sentence, “All other meals presents”, is unfinished, so the main patterns—such as dinner being highest for sodium and saturated fat, while snacks lead for added sugar—are omitted. The response is also substantially below the required 150 words. To improve, complete the overview and select key figures to support comparisons across meals.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening sentence introduces the charts, followed by a paragraph beginning “Overall”. This gives the reader a recognisable starting point and signals an overview. However, the response stops mid-thought at “All other meals presents”, leaving the ideas without completion or progression. The overview’s claims are also difficult to follow because “mainly diverse proportion” and “Breakfast is fluctuated” do not clearly explain the relationships in the data. There are no developed detail paragraphs or linking expressions to guide comparisons. Plan a short introduction, a clear overview, and one or two paragraphs grouping the most important figures; use straightforward links such as “whereas” and “by contrast” to make comparisons explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “proportion”, “nutrients”, “sodium”, “saturated fat” and “breakfast”, so the topic is identifiable. However, several word choices or forms are inaccurate and make the meaning unclear: “harmfull way of overconsuming nutrients” does not describe what the charts measure, “sugar addings” is not a natural expression, and “mainly diverse proportion” is difficult to interpret. “Basic meals” is also less precise than “typical meals”. Spelling errors such as “harmfull” further reduce accuracy. Build a small set of accurate chart-description phrases, for example “the percentage of each nutrient consumed at meals”, “accounted for” and “the highest proportion”, and check spelling and word forms before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt more than a list of labels, using a complex opening with a parenthetical list and an overview introduced by “Overall”. However, control is uneven even in these short sentences. In “The three pie charts illustrates”, the plural subject requires “illustrate”; “Breakfast is fluctuated” uses an incorrect verb construction; and “All other meals presents” has both an agreement problem and no completed idea. The opening also lacks clear sentence structure around “meals(sodium...)”, making the relationship between the meals and nutrient categories hard to read. Because the response is very brief, there is little evidence of a wider range of accurate structures. Practise complete comparative sentences, checking subject–verb agreement and using forms such as “Dinner accounts for…” and “Snacks contain…”.
