Student answer (Band 5.5)
In this contemporary world, environmental issues plays a vital role. Therefore, some individuals have decided to avoid flying or reduce the number of times they fly. In my opinion, this phenomenon have good impact on environment issues but not as much as it have demerits for individuals and businesses and this essay will support my view with supportive examples.
This situation will lead a gap between the businesses because of lack of communication. As some businesses are running all over the nation.Few people have to travel to branches of same company in order to share informations and to know how that branch is working. For instance, a manager of an organisation will travel to each branch once a month and will know which all areas are weak and where all his team need to focus. Moreover, the manager will share the necessary informations to each branch and bring all branches together and will be a mediator among other branches.
Additionally, if people will stop flying, employment rate will reduce. There are various jobs in which a employee need to travel once or twice a week for work. For example, a medical distributor need to travel to different places every week in order to gain more customers from other places.
There will be contibution towards preventing air and noise pollution by implementing this situation. As a airline not only creates alot of noise pollution in the time of takeoff and landing but also spreads air pollution as it generates or works from fuels.
In conclusion, Although air and noise pollution will be reduced by not flying or decrease the number of time people fly, it will more effect the businesses by creating gap and also there will be less employment rates.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you believe the environmental gains do not outweigh the disadvantages for businesses and individuals. You address both sides by discussing reduced pollution, business communication, and employment, and the examples of managers visiting branches and medical distributors make the disadvantages relevant. However, the environmental benefit is only briefly explained, while the business and employment points receive more attention. The claim that fewer flights would reduce employment is also asserted rather than fully explained, and the response does not directly compare the scale of these effects. To develop the argument further, explain how reduced flying affects jobs and business operations, then weigh those costs against the environmental benefits before reaching your conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction states your view, separate paragraphs present disadvantages and an environmental benefit, and the conclusion restates your position. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “Additionally,” and “In conclusion” help signal the sequence. However, the progression is not always smooth: the environmental paragraph appears after both disadvantage paragraphs, and the conclusion repeats the points without clearly comparing them. Some connections are also unclear, particularly “This situation will lead a gap between the businesses,” which does not precisely explain the relationship between reduced flying and business communication. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main claim, and connect the examples explicitly to the argument. More precise referencing would also make the links between ideas easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “environmental issues,” “air and noise pollution,” “employment rate,” and “branches,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “contribution towards preventing” pollution. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, including “support my view with supportive examples,” “creates a gap,” and “share informations.” Spelling errors such as “contibution” and “alot” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural combinations and precise terms: for example, describe “communication gaps between branches” and “share information.” Vary repeated general words such as “situation” and “places” with more specific vocabulary suited to the point being made.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “Although” and “because,” and the overall meaning can usually be followed. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries occur across the response. Examples include “environmental issues plays” and “this phenomenon have,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “a employee,” where the article is incorrect. The sentence beginning “As some businesses are running all over the nation.Few people…” is also incorrectly punctuated and fragmented. Work on checking subject–verb agreement and article use, and avoid placing a full stop inside a connected idea. Building accurate complex sentences will help you express the comparisons more clearly.
