Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some individuals think to minimize the number of times they fly each year or to cease flying entirely. This development has largest amount of adventages for environment than the buisnessess for individuals.

Carbon is one of the major aspect of green hosue gases and its significant source is flying crafts such as aeroplanes. Global warming and air pollution are reduced by decreasing the rate of flyings. When people lessen the use of aeroplanes it increases the reputation of train system and people travel through trains from one city to another for their buisness or study works. In France, it seemd that mostly people travels through fast trains such as bullett trains rather than air crafts. This development reduce the use of fuel because a large amount of fuel is consumed in planes and it also minimize many other expenses.

But there are many disadvantages such some compaines orders to their main workers to held in meeting face to face. Although, sometime we cannot reached to our destitaion at time through trains. Many countries such as Maldives and Thiland totally depends on tourism if we reduce the use of planes their GDP also decrease and leads to the joblesness of many individuals which are related to that tourism profession. People who are livings in foreign countries for work of study also depends on flying to meet their love ones.

The total ban on flying impact a load on tourism and studying and working in abroad so we have to take some beneficial steps to minimize the utilizations of planes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the question and make your position clear: you consider reducing flights beneficial overall, while acknowledging effects on tourism, business travel, and people living abroad. The environmental points about emissions and fuel use are relevant, and the examples of France and tourism-dependent countries help illustrate your reasoning. However, some ideas are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that fewer flights increase the reputation of train systems needs a clearer link to environmental benefits, and the business disadvantages could be developed with a specific explanation of how remote meetings or slower journeys affect companies. Your conclusion recommends reducing plane use but does not directly restate why the benefits outweigh the disadvantages. A more explicit comparison would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on environmental benefits, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a concluding recommendation. The contrast signalled by “But” helps the reader follow the shift between sides, and the examples generally appear in relevant places. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear. The sentence about trains increasing their “reputation” does not connect smoothly to the preceding point about emissions, while the final paragraph introduces tourism, studying, and working abroad without clearly synthesising the earlier arguments. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “This development” could be more precise about whether they mean reducing flights or using trains. Grouping related points and using clearer transitions would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “greenhouse gases,” “global warming,” “tourism,” “GDP,” and “face to face,” which gives you a useful range for discussing environmental and economic effects. Some less common expressions are also attempted, such as “cease flying” and “total ban.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less immediate: “adventages,” “buisnessess,” “destitaion,” and “joblesness” are examples. Several phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “rate of flyings,” “study works,” and “held in meeting.” Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your ideas clearer and more natural without requiring more complicated vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and some attempts at complex sentences, including “Although, sometime we cannot reached to our destitaion at time through trains” and the conditional idea about tourism-dependent countries. This shows an effort to connect causes and consequences. However, control of sentence structure and verb forms is inconsistent. For example, “it seemd that mostly people travels” has problems with tense and subject–verb agreement, while “This development reduce” needs a correctly inflected verb. The opening sentence, “Some individuals think to minimize…,” also has an incomplete or awkward grammatical pattern. Articles, plurals, and punctuation need attention as well. Practise building accurate clauses with “people think that…” and checking each sentence’s subject and verb before adding more complex structures.
