Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, growing enviornmental concerns have encouraged people to reconsider their reliance on air transportation and shift to another travelling methods. A significant number of passengers are minimizing their number of air flights every year. Although it creates some challenges, but from perspective benefits are outweigh the drawbacks.

One of the primary advantage of this development is that it can reduce atmospheric pollution and eliminate less carbon. Aircrafts release significant amount of carbon dioxide in air, it can be the reason of climate changes and greenhouse effects. Futhermore, by reducing air travellings people prefer other cheap and affordable modes of travelling such as trains and buses. It could less contribute in environmental contamination as compare to air fly, particularly when people have to travel to another city and small distant.

Despite these benefits, it can develops difficulities for individuals and businesses. Such as, other means of travel consumes more time and less convienent for individuals especially for students who studies abroad. Similarly, for international businesses it can be challenging to used other transportation rather than airplanes. Primary reason for this is that they have to meet overseas clients and conduct face to face communiction. However, modern technologies assist global businesses for arranging online meetings without travelling, this can save both time and money in this contemporary society.

To sum up, while a reduction of air flights can cause some practical obstacles for passengers, whereas it has long term environmrntal benefits. I firmly believe, this development has minor concerns as compare to advantages for protecting the Earth's ecosystem for sustainable future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both sides of the question and state a clear view: the environmental benefits outweigh the practical drawbacks. Relevant points include aircraft emissions, alternatives such as trains and buses, and the inconvenience of longer journeys for students and businesses. The discussion of online meetings also helps explain why some business disadvantages can be reduced. This meets the task well, but the ideas are not equally developed: the environmental case is asserted more than demonstrated, and the effects on individuals and businesses could be illustrated with a specific example. To strengthen the response, explain more precisely how reduced flying lowers emissions and weigh that benefit directly against the costs to people and companies.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for benefits and disadvantages, and a conclusion that restates your position. The progression from environmental effects to travel alternatives, then to personal and business difficulties, is easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Despite these benefits,” and “To sum up.” However, some connections are mechanical or awkward, particularly “Although it creates some challenges, but…” and “while … whereas…,” where competing linkers make the relationship unclear. The reference in “It could less contribute” is also difficult to follow. For stronger cohesion, use one connector per relationship and make pronouns clearly refer to a specific idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt relevant topic vocabulary, including “atmospheric pollution,” “carbon dioxide,” “greenhouse effects,” “overseas clients,” and “sustainable future.” This gives you enough language to discuss the topic, but inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “enviornmental,” “air travellings,” “eliminate less carbon,” and “small distant”; more natural choices would be “environmental,” “air travel,” “reduce carbon emissions,” and “short distances.” Some expressions, such as “another travelling methods,” also show limited control of natural phrasing. Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships for this topic and checking spelling and countable/uncountable forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mixture of simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession in “Although it creates some challenges…” and a relative clause in “students who studies abroad.” The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “One of the primary advantage” needs a plural noun, while “Aircrafts release significant amount …, it can be the reason” joins two independent clauses incorrectly. “It can develops” and “businesses … challenging to used” also show errors in verb form. In the conclusion, “while … whereas” creates an incomplete or conflicting structure. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, and divide long or joined clauses into complete sentences.
