Student answer (Band 7.0)
In recent years some environmentalists started to reduce the number of times they fly or stopped flying altogether. Although there is environmental benefits in this movement, I believe the advantages from flying is far more important than that.
To begin with, many countries economy heavily rely on imported goods and international tourism. However, this development will disrupt the global supply chain and international trade trough air, as well as tourism industry. In other words it will lead to economic catalyst in those countries. Moreover, it can also result to freezment in globalization by hindering global cultural exchange.
Additionally, flying by airplane is not only safer but also faster than any other traveling method. Thus it makes ones journey more enjoyable and less tiring. Therefore, flying has become important to many inviduals such as people who live far from their family, relatives and friends, workers who need to go overseas for business , and tourists enjoying foreign country.
On the other hand, some people may believe effects of air transit on environent is too destructive. Even though it is true , in my perspective maybe scientists and developers could find a way to change the bad outcome with technological advance. Since we cannot find a traveling method as convenient as flying in near future, we need to shift our focus to different approach on this problem.
Finally advantages air travel offers outweigh its long-term damage on nature because we can find a way to fix before it becomes too late to do anything. Before that we can contribute to this movement by reducing our flying in country and using vehicles like; bus, car and train.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the task and maintains a clear position throughout. You have identified the environmental benefits but argued that the economic and personal advantages of air travel are more significant. The ideas are relevant, though some points, such as the 'economic catalyst' argument, could be more clearly explained to demonstrate a deeper understanding of the trade-offs. The conclusion provides a balanced view by suggesting a middle ground, which strengthens the overall argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting examples are more specific and fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'On the other hand' to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally imprecise. For example, the phrase 'this development' is used to refer back to the topic, but the flow between sentences could be smoother. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and there is a clear progression of ideas throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'global supply chain', 'globalization', and 'cultural exchange'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choices or non-standard collocations, such as 'economic catalyst' (which is used incorrectly here), 'freezment' (which is not a standard English word), and 'result to' (should be 'result in'). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word formation and collocation to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('advantages... is'), preposition usage ('result to'), and article usage ('in those countries', 'in near future'). Punctuation is generally functional, though the use of the semicolon after 'vehicles like' is incorrect. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and ensuring that complex structures are formed correctly.
