Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments provided, such as 'reducing carbon dioxide' and 'harm for individuals', are repetitive and lack specific, well-developed examples or logical depth. The position is stated in the conclusion but is not consistently maintained or clearly articulated throughout the body paragraphs. To improve, you should focus on providing concrete examples (e.g., specific industries affected by travel restrictions) and ensuring each paragraph develops a single, clear point rather than repeating general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'To begin with' and 'On the other hand', which are used correctly but followed by sentences that lack logical flow. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between ideas is abrupt. For instance, the jump from discussing environmental benefits to 'societal growth' in the second paragraph is not logically connected. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help improve the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard phrasing, such as 'reducing fly' (should be 'reducing flying' or 'reducing air travel'), 'dusturb' (spelling error), and 'emergency time'. The range is limited, and the repetition of basic terms like 'fly' and 'environment' hinders the sophistication of the argument. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and collocations, and ensure that you use the correct word forms (e.g., nouns vs. verbs) in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('other argues that it have disadvantages'), incorrect word forms ('reducing fly'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. You should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement, correct verb forms, and ensuring that your sentences are grammatically complete.
