Student answer (Band 5.5)
in this eassy I will tell you about why some people decided to reduce the number of times they fly every year or to stop saying altogether.
some people decided to reduce the number of time they fly every year because it saves a lot of time . when we travel by some vahcal or by train they take alot of time to go there .
I think enviroment bring very benifits of this development because when we travel to fly from on place to another we save a lot of time and there is no headche because when we fly altogether with our friends and family we have so much time to spend to each other . travel together change our mood to fresh.
it also bring some advantages like when we have urgent meeting and have emergency in family that the flight book take time . we required some time to reached there but as compare to buses and train we reached there on time.
disadvantages is that when some people decided to reduce the number of time they fly every year then they did not know about the time achievement and they did not enjoy the nature .
to sum up, some people decided to reduce fly every year because it save their time and if they have emergency then they reahed there on time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response fails to address the core of the prompt, which asks for a discussion on the environmental benefits versus the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. Instead, the essay focuses on the convenience of flying versus other modes of transport, largely ignoring the environmental aspect. Furthermore, the response is under the 250-word minimum, which significantly limits the development of ideas. The position is unclear, and the arguments provided are repetitive and lack the necessary depth to satisfy the requirements of an academic task. To improve, you must ensure you directly answer all parts of the prompt and provide well-supported arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay lacks a clear structure. There is no introduction that paraphrases the prompt effectively, and the body paragraphs do not follow a logical progression. Cohesive devices are either missing or used incorrectly, making the flow of ideas disjointed. For example, the transition between the benefits of flying and the disadvantages is abrupt and confusing. Paragraphing is also insufficient, as the text appears as a series of loosely connected sentences rather than a cohesive argument. To improve, focus on using transition words like 'furthermore', 'however', and 'consequently' to link your ideas and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic words like 'time', 'fly', and 'travel'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'eassy', 'vahcal', 'benifits', and 'reahed', which hinder readability. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas or discuss environmental issues effectively. To improve, you should aim to learn topic-specific vocabulary related to the environment and transportation, and practice using synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement, tense consistency, and sentence structure. For instance, 'when we travel to fly from on place to another' is grammatically incorrect and confusing. Many sentences are simple and lack the complexity required for higher band scores. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and incorrect capitalization. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence structures, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and proofreading your work to correct simple errors in tense and word order.
