Student answer (Band 6.5)
From the last century airplane is considered a major mode of transport internationally . Some individuals have made decision to decrease the number of trip or stop flying altogether. They believe that it will reduce the air pollution which is caused by the engines of these airplanes. Although reducing the yearly fly trips will effect many businesses and individuals it will also have various environmental advantages from this step.
Affordability and convenience to travel in planes persuade many travelers to choose air as a mode of transport instead of roads. It is also the fastest way to travel. However it also has many negative impacts on environment. Planes have huge engines which use a substantial amount of oil for combustion process . Combustion process results in the production of several harmful gases which are dangerous for organisms and also for environment. These gases can deplete the protective layer of earth. So if individuals will reduce the frequency to travel by planes it will be surely beneficial for environment. For instance, in 2025 many wealthy persons went in Los Angles in their private jets to saw the Super Bowl final. They leaved the city after match in their planes . These jets alone produced the pollution which London's traffic produces in two weeks.
Now every business can be managed remotely. There are many new innovative apps which help in businesses. So it will not effect much to businesses.
I believe that reducing travel on planes have many benefits which can easily outweighs the disadvantages to persons and individuals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the environmental benefits of reducing air travel against the disadvantages for businesses and individuals. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention that businesses can be managed remotely, this point is not fully explored or supported with sufficient detail. The example regarding the Super Bowl is relevant but lacks precision in its presentation. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a deeper analysis of the 'why' and 'how' behind your arguments, rather than just stating them. Your position is clear throughout, which is a positive aspect of your writing.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'However' and 'For instance,' to link your thoughts. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Additionally, there are instances where referencing is slightly unclear, such as the transition between the environmental impact and the business impact. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a strong topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'combustion process' and 'deplete the protective layer.' However, there are several word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'yearly fly trips' instead of 'annual air travel' and 'wealthy persons went in Los Angles' instead of 'traveled to Los Angeles.' Some phrasing is also repetitive. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic collocations and ensure that your word choices are natural and contextually appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with verb tenses and subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'airplane is considered,' 'they leaved,' 'reducing travel... have many benefits'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas after introductory phrases and incorrect spacing around punctuation marks. These errors do not generally impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and refining your use of complex structures will help improve your score in this criterion.
