Student answer (Band 6.0)

People are gradually decreasing their travelling through airports yearly and some have even stopped travelling by air permanently. I, largely agree with the benefits .However it is more disadvantageous for an individual from buisness prespective.

To begin with, It is true that enviornmental issues such as global warming, air pollution are increasing yearly. The fumes released from the engine of aircrafts are one of the major factor behind air pollution. As a consequence, our planet temperature have gradually risen, climate changes have been seen in different parts of earth. As a result, people have begun taking initiative to decreased air transportation, which would help to reduce the enviornmental problems.

However, from an individual prespective it would be significant loss in financial planning. In era of fast paced lifestyle, time is essential element, and travelling through airways reduces the cost as well as time ,In comparison of traveling by the other vehicle while subsequently maintaining reduced costs as well as time management. The main disadvantages of travelling by air would increase the harm to the environment, it depands on the individual if they are willing to save environment as a future investment or instead for momentary gain focus instead on comfort and luxury.

In conclusion, the efforts made to reduce the flying for purpose of enviornmental benefit is efficent method , but only if an individual can afford to balance personal benefits against the environment safety. As permanent boycotting of traveling through air would cause large scale financial losses for the global business.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both environmental benefits and the disadvantages for individuals and businesses. However, the position is somewhat contradictory; the introduction states the writer agrees with the benefits, but then immediately pivots to the disadvantages. The development of ideas is limited. For instance, the argument regarding business losses is mentioned in the conclusion but is not sufficiently explored in the body paragraphs. To improve, ensure that each point is supported with specific examples or logical consequences, and maintain a consistent stance throughout the essay to ensure the response is fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, the transition 'In comparison of traveling by the other vehicle' is awkward and lacks clarity. Additionally, some sentences are fragmented or lack logical flow, such as the final sentence of the second paragraph. While there is an attempt to use linking words like 'To begin with' and 'However', the overall progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, making the essay feel slightly repetitive in its reasoning.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several spelling errors, such as 'buisness', 'enviornmental', and 'depands', which occur frequently. The word choice is often basic, and there are instances of incorrect collocations, such as 'decreasing their travelling through airports' and 'permanent boycotting'. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring correct spelling of key terms related to the topic, such as 'environmental' and 'business'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('planet temperature have gradually risen'), incorrect punctuation (comma splices), and awkward phrasing ('the fumes released from the engine of aircrafts are one of the major factor'). While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar and sentence construction limits the score. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and proper article usage would significantly improve your accuracy.
