Student answer (Band 6.5)
Travelling by air has become an important part of modern life. However, some people have decided either to control the number of times they fly annually or to stop flying together. This essay will discuss the environmental benefits behind this trend and explain why I believe advantages outweigh the disadvantaged for business owners and individuals.
To begin with, reducing travelling by air can bring several environmental benefits. As the airplanes operates on the consumption more fuel, which is produced by the burning of fossil fuels as it directly leads to carbon emission. In addition, these fossil fuels are very limited in our earth space. Moreover, burning of these fossil fuels leads to air pollution, water pollution, and other kind of pollutions. In addition, more amount of greenhouse gases is emitted in the atmosphere. Furthermore, these gases are very dangerous to the atmosphere. By reducing travelling by the flights, we can control these harmful gases being emitted into atmosphere and we can save the air and water being polluted. For instance, if more people choose trains or other modes of transportation instead of flights, airlines will operate fewer flights, which reduce fuel consumption and reduction in carbon emissions. Hence, controlling the number of times they fly annually will have serval benefits on the environment.
Despite these environmental benefits, however there are some negative consequences on business owners and individuals. Many businesses such as hotels and accommodation places will badly effect, because these directly effect on their economy. Furthermore, small businesses will get effected badly. Moreover, international meetings will become more harder and also trade of goods such as apples and other products from one country to another country will become more difficult. In addition, travelling more distances would not be possible without airlines and this causes to travel more hours w]and we should wait for more time to reach the destination, Therefore, travelling without airlines will affect the tourism industry and downfall of businesses.
In conclusion, although reducing travelling by air will affect the tourism industry and also it will affect the business market, reducing travelling by flying will have numerous benefits, by reducing the amount of carbon emission and controlling the pollution.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the task, presenting a clear position that the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, though the development is somewhat repetitive, particularly in the second paragraph where multiple sentences focus on the same point regarding fossil fuels and pollution. To reach a higher band, you should aim to extend your arguments with more specific examples or deeper analysis rather than listing similar points. The conclusion effectively summarizes your stance, though it could be more robust by synthesizing the main points rather than just restating them.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a distinct focus. You use a range of cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'In addition', 'Furthermore', and 'In conclusion'. However, the use of these markers is sometimes mechanical, and the flow between sentences can feel repetitive. For instance, the frequent use of 'In addition' and 'Moreover' at the start of consecutive sentences makes the writing feel a bit list-like. Improving the variety of your transitions and ensuring that each sentence builds upon the previous one would enhance the overall flow and coherence of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'carbon emission', 'fossil fuels', and 'tourism industry'. However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'more harder', 'other kind of pollutions', and 'accommodation places'. Additionally, there is some repetition of basic vocabulary. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and academic phrasing. For example, instead of saying 'more harder', use 'more challenging' or 'increasingly difficult'. Expanding your vocabulary to include more sophisticated, topic-specific terminology will help you achieve a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('airplanes operates'), incorrect verb forms ('will badly effect' instead of 'will be badly affected'), and awkward phrasing ('this causes to travel more hours'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that passive and active voice constructions are used accurately.
