Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, people are concerned about environment because of the pollution and air health due to which people decided to reduce the number of flights they fly every year. It is argued by some sectors of society that the number of flights should be lessen in order to decrease environmental problems, while other argue that there are some other measures should be taken to decrease these concerns. Both aspects have their own importance, but I acknowledge that the latter view is far more substantial and more practical.
As a far as I am concerned Because the plane consume oil which contains different chemicals and gases which can cause negative impact on our environment and also cause air pollution through which people of the society may face different health issues.
This the disadvantage for a society and a very bad impact also because flight in a plane or a jet is too expensive that every one cannot afford to travel. People travel in a plane to go to other country for their businesses and other works and some travel for picnic and to study abroad that every one cannot afford the ticket of plane.
In conclusion, the travel agencies has the authority to manage every flight and take care of the passengers because travel in a flight is not safe. Sometimes flight crashes or it can face some mechanical issues due to which plane crashes and a huge amount of passengers in the flight die every year at last travelling in a plane is not safe for both people and environment.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the topic but fails to provide a balanced discussion. The prompt asks whether environmental benefits outweigh disadvantages for individuals and businesses; however, the essay focuses primarily on environmental concerns and safety issues, neglecting the economic impact on businesses. The position is somewhat unclear, as the introduction states the latter view is more practical, but the body paragraphs do not clearly develop this argument. Ideas are under-developed and lack specific examples or logical depth, resulting in a response that only partially addresses the task requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the progression of ideas is disjointed. There is a lack of logical flow between sentences, and the use of cohesive devices is minimal and often inaccurate (e.g., 'This the disadvantage for a society'). The conclusion introduces new, irrelevant information regarding flight safety and crashes, which was not mentioned in the prompt or the body paragraphs, making the overall structure feel disjointed and confusing for the reader.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'bad impact', 'different', and 'things'. There are noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'air health' instead of 'air quality' and 'the number of flights should be lessen' instead of 'lessened'. The range is insufficient to express complex ideas, and the misuse of words occasionally makes the intended meaning difficult to follow.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'the plane consume oil'), sentence fragments (e.g., 'As a far as I am concerned Because...'), and incorrect verb forms. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences with some unsuccessful attempts at complex ones. Punctuation is also inconsistent, which further detracts from the clarity of the writing.
