Student answer (Band 5.5)

As some people decided to reduce the number of times they fly every year or to stop flying altogether. In this essay we will discus about this.

in my opinion this will definitely effect the individual and businesses because I think when people travel they feel relax, they travel to reduce their stress with their family, even family spend more time with each other in travelling, they learn about new things, they see the natural beauty, they see how beautiful the nature is, for example children in their summer vacations love to travel to reduce their academic stress, travelling develop confidence in people even many people travel for jobs in abroad ,many students went on scholarships to abroad.

many businesses are also affected by this because many people earning depend on this , it will cause the strong impact on people jobs and travelling agencies and also the companies their workers, foe example trading is also affected by this, import and export of precious things like oils, meals, leather etc.

Although it is good for environment because the atmosphere remain clear and humidity free which is good for human and birds even birds are also affected by aeroplane but environmental benefits of this has increased the problems for individual and businesses so in my opinion reducing flying is not a solution of something we should fly to explore nature and different things even to learn knowledge from different platforms, and to build confidence.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt but fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which negatively impacts the development of ideas. While you present a clear position, the arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. You touch upon the environmental benefits and the negative impacts on individuals and businesses, but the points are not fully extended or supported with specific, concrete examples. To improve, ensure you provide a more balanced exploration of the topic and expand your points to meet the length requirement, which will allow for a more thorough development of your arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay lacks a clear structure. The introduction is incomplete, and the body paragraphs are not clearly demarcated, making the progression of ideas difficult to follow. There is a lack of cohesive devices to link sentences and ideas; the writing relies on comma splices and run-on sentences rather than logical transitions. To improve, use clear paragraphing (introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion) and incorporate linking words such as 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'however', and 'in addition' to guide the reader through your argument more effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. You use simple words like 'good', 'beautiful', and 'things' frequently, which limits the sophistication of your writing. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'humidity free' and 'meals' (likely meaning 'materials'). To achieve a higher band score, try to incorporate more precise, topic-specific vocabulary related to the environment, economics, and travel. Avoid repeating the same words and focus on using synonyms to express your ideas more clearly and professionally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors, including issues with subject-verb agreement ('travelling develop'), tense consistency, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, which hinders readability. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is often incorrect, particularly the overuse of commas where full stops are needed. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and practicing the use of complex sentences with subordinating conjunctions.
