Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people have decided to stop flying or to reduce the number of times they fly every year. There are many disadvantages for individuals and businesses because it reduce the productivity and increases the prices of things which is create problem for individuals. This essay will discuss both points.

First and foremost, if people do not travel for businesses purpose it cause problem for local problem. If people decided to reduce fly every year it directly harm the productivity of country if businessman do not travel for their business purpose it will cause trouble for company which directly harm the economy of country. For instance, in the North Korea people are not allowed to go any other country for any purpose which is causing damage to their economy and similarly prices of things were expensive.

Furthermore, there are many advantages of doing this it will cause to encourage local industry which will also good for country. For example, in Saudi Arabia local things are cheaper than those of exported thing if people wants to buy food local is much cheaper than brands because people do not like to go other country for business they start their own local business

In my opinion, environmental benefits of this development do not outweigh the disadvantages for both individuals and businesses because it may cause many problem to county economy and prices of things may go expensive .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which negatively impacts the task achievement score. While you attempt to address both sides of the argument, the ideas are underdeveloped and lack depth. For instance, the example regarding North Korea is not clearly linked to the prompt's focus on environmental benefits versus economic disadvantages. The position is stated, but the arguments remain superficial and repetitive. To improve, you should expand your points with more logical reasoning and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a full development of your ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While you use some cohesive devices like 'First and foremost' and 'Furthermore', the transitions between ideas are often abrupt or confusing. The concluding paragraph is incomplete, which significantly disrupts the flow of the essay. To improve, ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your ideas follow a logical sequence. Additionally, avoid ending the essay abruptly; a well-structured conclusion is essential for a coherent response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You frequently use basic terms such as 'problem', 'things', and 'good', which restricts your ability to express complex ideas precisely. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'reduce fly' instead of 'reduce flying' and 'business purpose' instead of 'business purposes'. To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary and use more precise synonyms to convey your meaning effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement, such as 'it reduce' instead of 'it reduces' and 'which is create' instead of 'which creates'. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and there is a lack of variety in complex sentence forms. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly in the final sentence. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically verb tenses and pluralization, before attempting more complex grammatical structures.
