Student answer (Band 5.0)

When an individual or group is travelling from one country to another they often travels through plane .This has many advantages that it will saves too much of time of a person .

If some people decides to reduce their travel by air it is their opinion . Some people have height phobia so they are scared of travelling via plane .Some people have some confusions that what they do if plane collapsed .

Some people thought if they travelled via plane along with their family and the plane crashes they will be abolished ,so they are scared of many type of these things.

I think that it also has many environmental benefits .If people reduce their travel by air the fuel consumed by the plane become saves .

If no more people travelled through plane their will also be less flights and less noise in the air and in the surrounding areas where plane travels.

It has also many disadvantages that many aviation companies suffers losses and unemployment increases . Another disadvantage is that many bussiness meetings and many other tasks are not fulfilled at time so there is a collective loss of the whoe world .

I have an experience of travelling via plane .I felt a little bit scary in the start but during the flight i much comfortable in plane .

The landing is also very smooth . There is no danger in travelling via plane . I recommend everyone to get a flight experience at least once in the life . Aeroplane is a very exciting and wonderfull invention of modern technology.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt but lacks depth and focus. While you mention environmental benefits and economic disadvantages, the arguments are underdeveloped. For instance, the points about 'height phobia' and 'fear of crashing' are irrelevant to the core question regarding the environmental impact versus the economic consequences for businesses. To improve, you must focus on the specific trade-off requested by the prompt rather than personal anecdotes or general fears about flying. The position is somewhat unclear, as the essay shifts between personal experience and the required analysis, failing to provide a balanced, well-supported argument.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical flow is weak. Many sentences are disjointed, and the transition between ideas is often abrupt. For example, the shift from discussing environmental benefits to business losses lacks a clear linking phrase. Cohesive devices are used in a very basic or mechanical way (e.g., 'Another disadvantage is...'). Furthermore, the paragraphing is inconsistent, with some very short, single-sentence paragraphs that disrupt the flow of the argument. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, unified topic would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'many', 'people', and 'things', which restricts your ability to express complex ideas precisely. There are also errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'abolished' (which is used incorrectly to mean 'killed' or 'destroyed') and 'the whoe world' (spelling error). While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of variety and the frequent misuse of words prevent you from reaching a higher band. You should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to the environment and economics to improve your precision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'they often travels', 'some people decides', 'companies suffers'), incorrect article usage, and awkward sentence structures. The range of structures is limited, consisting mostly of simple sentences. There are also punctuation errors, such as missing spaces after periods and incorrect comma placement. To improve, you need to focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and sentence construction before attempting more complex structures. Proofreading for these basic errors is essential.
