Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 161 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas, as the arguments are presented in a fragmented and incomplete manner. The essay does not clearly state a position on whether the environmental benefits outweigh the disadvantages, and the discussion of the impact on businesses is largely absent. The conclusion is also incomplete, trailing off at the end. To improve, you must expand your arguments with specific examples and ensure all parts of the prompt are addressed in full.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While some cohesive devices like 'Firstly' and 'On the other hand' are used, the connections between sentences are often strained or unclear. For instance, the transition between discussing global warming and the infrastructure of aerial transport is abrupt. The lack of a clear introduction and a finished conclusion further disrupts the flow of the argument. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would help create a more coherent structure.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often imprecise. Phrases like 'aerial mode' and 'pollution pattern' are used in ways that do not sound natural in an academic context. There are also issues with word forms, such as 'convenience' used instead of 'convenient'. The range of vocabulary is insufficient to discuss the topic in depth, and the repetition of basic terms hinders the sophistication of the writing. You should focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to the environment and transport to improve your lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'In this easy I will discuss' (should be 'essay'), 'Human-beings of modern general aware' (missing verb), and 'These can be afford by all' (incorrect passive voice). The sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences, and those that are attempted often contain errors in syntax or punctuation. To reach a higher band, you need to focus on subject-verb agreement, correct verb forms, and the accurate use of articles and prepositions.
