Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments are relevant, though the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the discussion on economic impacts in Sri Lanka is a good attempt at support, but the explanation of environmental benefits is repetitive and lacks depth. The essay would benefit from more nuanced exploration of how businesses might adapt to reduced flying, rather than just stating that it is a 'paramount component'. The position is consistent, but the supporting points could be more thoroughly extended to reach a higher band.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'For instance', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'due to it has become crucial transportation system amoung the counties'. The flow between sentences is generally logical, but the internal structure of some sentences is slightly disjointed, which affects the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'trending of reduction', 'postive affect environment', and 'individual's tours'. Spelling errors like 'persoanl', 'amoung', 'corbon', and 'desasters' are frequent and occasionally distract the reader. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'emissions' and 'carbon footprints', the overall range is limited, and the errors in collocation and spelling prevent the response from reaching a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Issues include incorrect verb forms ('has been resulted'), missing articles, and awkward sentence construction ('the Ozone layer has damaged due to air traveling'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the number of errors is significant enough to cause some difficulty for the reader and indicates a lack of control over complex structures.
